Living Kidney Donor Needed Now: Please Share My Story
This past month on my kidney transplant journey has been quite overwhelming. From dialysis catheter surgery to an emotional “dry run” transplant call, I’ve faced both hope and heartbreak. July 2025 Update
Big news & big emotions
I’ve officially been approved for a kidney transplant and been added to the waitlist — a huge step forward, but also a reminder of how urgent this is as my kidney function has declined to Stage 5.
I’m still holding hope that a living donor will come forward so I can avoid or minimize dialysis. If you’re curious about living donation or how you can help, please reach out.
In the meantime, I’m finding joy in the little things — the garden, the stray kittens, and all the incredible support from family, friends, and caregivers. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Still Searching for a Living Kidney Donor - Kidney Month 2025
March is Kidney Month, marking one year since we launched Kidney4Krista.com to share my journey and raise awareness about PKD, CKD, and the urgent need for living kidney donors in Canada. With my kidney function now at 17%, I need a living donor for the best chance at a healthier future. The wait for a deceased donor can be years, but living donors save lives—mine included. I’m incredibly grateful for those who have supported me, but I’m still searching for the right match. You can help by sharing my story—just one person can make all the difference. If you’ve ever considered living donation, please don’t assume you’re ineligible—just call 1-519-663-3552 and ask.
