October 2025 Update
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE
As the weeks and months continue to fly by, my health continues to deteriorate. If my updates seem to be increasingly frequent and more urgent, it is because there is no more time to be wasted. Time is of the essence and I’m fighting to be able to return to a healthy life!
HEALTH STATUS UPDATE
My kidney function continues to decline at a rapid pace and it is now at 10%. My last visit with the Nephrologist suggested that I likely only have a few weeks left before I will need to begin dialysis, which will bring a whole new set of challenges and limitations. I need to find a living donor as soon as possible!
MY SEARCH CONTINUES - PLEASE SHARE MY STORY
I appreciate everyone who has shared my story so far. I have been lucky enough to have had four generous people come forward to be potential donors. Unfortunately they have all been ruled out. Please continue to share my story. I know that one person is out there - I still need your help to find them so please keep sharing!
What will help the most is if YOU - my closest friends and family - add your own perspective to every share. A potential donor wants to hear from the people closest to me why I am worthy of this gift!
Many of you have asked for more ways to share so we have created Kidney4Krista social media accounts.

A BIG ASK?
I’d like to thank FeltFilms for featuring my story in the short film: A Big Ask? Doing that interview was one of the most difficult things I have ever done, but I hope that it helps to inspire potential donors into taking action - not just for me, but for the 3000 other Canadians who are also on the transplant waitlist and hoping for a new lease on life. If you haven’t seen it yet, click the image below to watch.
I am thrilled that the Transplant Ambassador Program of Canada has endorsed the film. Please help us raise awareness about the incredible power of living donation by sharing this short documentary film with your own friends and family.
THANK YOU - KIDNEY WALK
Finally, I wanted to thank everyone who donated to our team for the Kidney Walk. Together we raised $5200 for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, which helps to support patients and their families as they navigate the challenges of chronic kidney disease. I am happy that I was able to walk for this important cause and greatly appreciate your support.
